Weekly update 16th October

It's been another busy week in Year 6.  We have started our Science work on light.  Please take a look at the knowledge organiser on this page with your child as this will help to deepen their understanding, as well as embed knowledge.  We have been looking at the formation of shadows and how we see.  You might want to get a torch out and investigate what happens when you shine a torch at a mirror, you could even make your own preiscope!

In literacy we are beginning to punctuate direct speech and in maths we have been looking at factors, multiples and prime numbers.  As always the children have approached their work with determination and have enjoyed seeing themselves make progress.

This week congratulations go to Joe and Brooke.

Joe has achieved the Christian Value for respect.  Joe always shows respect with children and adults.  He is kind, polite and a supportive friend to everyone.  Well done Joe.

Brooke has achieved the star this week for enthusiasm in class.  She joins in with everything that we do and will always volunteer to offer suggestions or help out.
